What colours are available?
Units are available in the colours pictured. We also have the facility to powder coat some units, so we may be able to provide alternative colours on a ‘special order’ basis. Please contact us directly for prices and lead times. Please note that such units would be subject to an extended lead time, are likely to be subject to a minimum order quantity and there may be a price increase.
How do I become a distributor?
To discuss becoming a distributor please contact us directly.
What are your open hours?
We are open 8.30am to 5.30pm weekdays. We are closed Bank Holidays and weekends. Limited open hours may apply during the Christmas period.
I have emailed you – how long do you take to reply?
We aim to reply to all enquiries within 24 hours, excluding weekends and bank holidays. Most replies will be faster than this. However, for technical questions there may be a small delay while we await more information from our technical team. Our offices are closed during weekends and public holidays.
How can I place an order?
Please contact us directly. We may refer you to a distributor.
Is there a minimum order quantity/value?
There is not a minimum order quantity but we do have a minimum order value of £25.00.
Do you supply internationally?
Yes, our products are available globally. Please contact us directly – in some cases we may refer you to a local distributor.
How are units delivered?
We use custom packaging to ensure that all units are delivered in the best condition, without incurring damage during transit. This is normally a robust cardboard box with polystyrene inserts. Most units will be delivered in individual boxes, although some larger orders may be delivered via pallet.
How long does delivery take?
This depends on your location. Most UK orders are delivered the next working day after dispatch.
Can I collect from your premises?
Yes, collection can be arranged from our premises by appointment-only.
What is your lead time?
The lead time varies, depending upon the product and quantity ordered. At busy times the lead time will be longer. For orders of one standard unit, dispatch will normally be within one week. We confirm projected lead times when orders are submitted, or you can contact us directly for an estimate.
How often do your products need to be serviced?
All of our fall and load arrestors should be serviced annually by an authorised service agent.
Can I service units myself?
Only authorised service agents can service or repair units. If you have the facility to become a service agent, please contact use directly to discuss eligibility requirements and training options.
What is the cost of a service?
This varies depending on the type of the unit. A basic service normally costs approx £60-70, depending on the unit type. Any additional parts and labour are charged on top of this.
My unit has failed a visual inspection – what should I do?
Immediately return the unit to us, or an authorised service agent, for further inspection. DO NOT continue to use the unit.
How do I send a unit back to be serviced?
Simply send the unit/s to our address and include a note with the unit/s letting us know your contact details and what you’d like us to do. We’ll then get back to you with a quotation for the service / repair after the unit has been inspected.
What is the turn around time for a service?
This depends on many things, including how much work is required and how busy the workshop schedule is. The standard lead time for inspecting a unit and then quoting the customer is 3-5 days. There is then normally another 3-5 days after we’ve received the go-ahead for us to complete the service / refurb.
Do you supply replacement manuals?
Yes, manuals are available to download and print online.
Can G.Guard load arrestors be used with pulleys?
Yes, G.Guards can be used in conjunction with pulleys, in some circumstances. When doing so, the maximum working load can be increased. There are many factors that need to be considered if attempting this, so please contact us for technical advice before ordering.
Are your products CE Certified?
Yes, all of our products are fully CE certified.
Are your products subject to LOLER?
Only the G.Winch and G.Saver II units are subject to LOLER. This is because they are classified as lifting equipment. Our other products, such as G.Guards, are not classed as lifting equipment and therefore are not covered by LOLER.
Can the G.Stop and G.Saver II be used horizontally?
Yes, but only in certain circumstances and the use must be carefully considered. Please refer to the product instruction manual for further details and contact us directly for in-depth technical advice.
Do your products conform to ANSI?
No, our products do not currently conform to ANSI. They are certified to UK / EU standards.
Do you offer different cable lengths?
Yes, our units are available with the cable lengths that are advertised online. We are not able to offer cable lengths that are longer than the greatest length that is advertised. This is because the casings of the units would not accommodate the extra length of cable. However, if you require a cable length that is shorter than the longest possible length, but you can’t see the specific length advertised, please contact us.
Is your G.Tripod suitable for two people?
No, currently the G.Tripod is rated for single-person use.
Can the G.Saver II be used as a winch?
The G.Saver II features a rescue winch mechanism. However, this must only be used in emergency circumstances. It must not be used for day-to-day lifting/lowering of personnel or equipment. Once a G.Saver II has been involved in a fall / rescue situation, it should be returned for service and re-certification. Our G.Winch is suitable for day-to-day personnel lifting.
Do you test your products?
Yes, our products are thoroughly tested on-site in our own custom-built test pit facility. This enables us to issue each unit with a Test Certificate (to be renewed annually).
Can you supply product manuals in other languages?
Yes, we have manuals available in a limited number of other languages. If the language that you require is not currently available, we can arrange for a translation to be produced. However, there may be an additional charge for doing this in order to cover translation costs.
What is the activation speed of G.Guards?
G.Guards have an activation speed of around 0.6m per second.
Are spare parts available?
Yes, our units are backed-up by full spare parts availability. Contact us for current lead times. Only Globestock Ltd. or authorised service agents should replace parts.
Can you supply units without labels?
No. The labels are part of the CE certification. Removing the labels would invalidate the CE marking and the unit would therefore not pass an inspection. However, we can supply some units in black or with black shroud covers, in order to make them less conspicuous.
Can your G.Winch be used for lifting equipment?
Yes. The G.Winch is rated for lifting personnel but it can also be used to lift loads, providing the maximum load is not exceeded. We supply a 150kg and 250kg version.
I’m not 100% sure that the product is right for my application. How can I check?
Just ask us. We have technical staff available that will be happy to answer any questions and discuss your application in detail. It is important to us that customers find the solution that is right for them.
What is the max user weight for your fall arresters?
The max user weight for our fall arresters is 136kg.
